Week #103 – Coming Home

Flight Itinerary, coming home!!!

Hey FAMILY! LOVE YOU MOTHER! Thanks for putting that together! That will be super nice! Yes, I am ready to come home, some people say i’m trunky, but i’m really just ready to move onto the next stage of life. Its bitter sweet, but I know there are bigger and better things ahead! the MY PLAN program is great it helps to kinda set goals in the future and help you adjust. My last interview was not very long, he just thanked me for my service, said that I did a great job and then gave me some advice, i enjoyed it. I will have one last interview in the mission home it just won’t be very long.  When I get home I do not know exactly what I want to do , I do want to make the best of it, I would like to go to the BEACH ASAP and go SURF WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND WHOEVER WANTS TO GO! I am super excited to see everyone and come home! It will be a blast! Our investigators are kind of stagnate right now. We are hoping that someone will get baptized in the coming months. We did find a new inv. who is very interested and has come to church. She is a baptist and really wants to see what our church has to offer. Her husband is a less active! He is trying to change as well! It is awesome the work is going forward. It rained a lot this week.

We did some more service this week cutting some bamboo for our neighbors, it was a good work out haha. The south is so weird. It rains when it is sunny outside then doesnt rain when it is cloudy, weirdest weather. I do not get it. In Brookhaven this week we had a branch party and it was fun. Alot of people showed up we even met some new people and a new inv. came. This week there was not anything that is standing out in my mind right now. We also went to IHOP with a member and there non member friends it was good we gave them a BOM. It was a great restoration lesson.

Im keeping it short today but, all I can say is that the Lord loves us infinitely and that we have to forget the past and the mistakes we have made and move forward! we cant have a bright future if we are always living in our History. Guilt is one of the most horrible things, we need to let things go and get things fixed so we can enjoy our life. If we are guilty or have any regrets which we all do, we need to let them go and in doing so we will then have the capacity to enjoy this moment, and then the next with a clean slate. I am so thankful for the mission, my Savior Jesus Christ and my family and friends. May each of us turn to our Savior Jesus Christ and rely on his atonement in all we do!

Love each and every one of you!

Week #102 – It is a Gift

Hey Family and friends I hope all is well! This week was great. We did a lot of things. We went on exchanges in Crystal Springs and I had a blast. We contacted someone on the street and passed out a Book of Mormon to him. After Exchanges we had interviews with President Olson. He has given me my final interview it was great. He is a great mission president and leader. He gave me a lot of great advice.I am glad that I was able to serve under two great mission presidents they have taught me a lot! Yesterday we went out with a member from red star. Bro. Webb. He is a great man and loves the lord. We went and saw some less actives and we were able to get into every door we knocked on, it was awesome. On the Last house, we went and saw a less active bishop wanted us to see. This individual opened up and listened to us and I was prompted to talk about the Book of Mormon and how it is the keystone of our religion. Each of us shared experiences on how the Book of Mormon has blessed our lives and has enabled us through the atonement of Jesus Christ to be happy, that it has given us courage to do the hard things. That it is a compass in our lives and will keep us on the path that Christ wants us to go. After we testified. I felt the impression to ask if this individual had ever been through the temple. So I did, I asked straight up as I felt. He said no, and I immediately testified that it was the only place on earth where every concern, every worry, every problem we might have or face is left at the door. That we should strive to be worthy to enter there and to feel of the spirit there. As soon as I said that, Bro. Webb started to cry. He said that he had been prompted to ask this man if he had been to the temple, and that he was prompted to testify of the blessings there. But that he was worried that he would offend him or that he would make him feel uncomfortable, he didn’t want to ruin his friendship with him.So he waited, as soon as he had questioned that prompting it came to him a second time and as soon as it came to him the second time, he heard me speak of the temple and ask this man, he said that the spirit just hit him and the spirit filled the room as I testified that the temple is where the Lord wants him. Bro. Webb then testified after I did, of the promptings that just had taken place and testified to this man the same thing, and that he knows the Lord wants him there. The spirit was there and we committed this man to read the Book of Mormon each day and to pray with real intent and to hold fast to it, that he would be able to overcome all his hardships and addictions and trials because of Jesus Christ.

It is amazing to see the miracles that happen in each of our lives. But the problem is that we must have the eyes to see them. Most of us have miracles happen each day, God constantly blesses us and protects us and sustains us moment by moment, and we sometimes just don’t see it. We have to get to a point to where our way of thinking and vision is different. We have to have a drive to find those things the lord does for us and that is when our perspective changes that we will be able to see the many blessings and miracles the lord works in our lives daily. I can testify that when we get the chance to see those miracles and blessings throughout our lives that is when we can truly know that God is real, that everything we have is a sacred gift! It is a gift, every smile, every laugh, every prayer heard, every struggle, every moment, every breath, it is a gift. We cant let it go to waste, we must cherish every moment of it. I will not waste it, we cant waste it, we will live our life in faith! In honor to God who has given us an opportunity to grow, and that even when we fail he is still there encouraging us to get up and try again. IT IS A GIFT!

It takes an eternal perspective to get that vision to see things in life that way. We get that vision through Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, repenting and reading the scriptures daily!

Through that the Lord will change our hearts and enable us change. I am so thankful for the Lord and his love in mercy in my life, I hope all of us can see his hand in our lives!

I love yall have a great week, dont let anything go to waste!
Learn grow and become!

Week #101 – The Lord woke me up tis morn’in

Hey FAMILY!, its sounds good! I hope that the move all works out. It sounds like a nice place, I am excited to see it. The Lord truly is so merciful. As of what I need right now, I dont think I need anything at this moment. Things can wait till I get home. I will bring some of my clothes with me so I have stuff to wear when I get back. It is not a problem at all. Ill bring home the things I need and leave behind the stuff I don’t want. It is crazy to me that I only have 36 days left, or so. The mission has gone by fast and it has been an amazing experience to serve. This past week, we did a lot of biking. Two of the days we biked about 25 miles. It was sooo hot, so we have been hitting the pavement. It has been good. We have a new Elders Quorum President Bro. Webb. He is a stout guy and we are eating dinner with him tonight. This Sunday was Mason Falvey’s farewell! It was awesome, he did great, he leaves for his mission tomorrow. He will be serving in Logan UT. He did a lot for us and we got a lot of work done with him. We had two investigators in church this past week. We hope to continue to work with them, and see where it leads. There is a ton of potential here in this area. We have worked with a lot of part member families. We hope and pray the lord will continue to bless us. This week as we were tracting out in the country, the last house was really nice, they gave us some food and some deer sausage. They also let us feed and pet their horses. It was cool. We also had a little bbq out in front of our house and we fed our neighbors, two of them work for the Brookhaven Daily Leader, which is the news paper. they said that we might be able to get featured on the front, but that they would talk to there boss and see if they could get that figured out. that would be way sweet, and get the church’s information out there more! Today for pday we went fishing AGAIN! it was way fun. We went with one of our buddies. He is preparing to go on his mission, Cody Hinley. We got some little bass and some catfish. The lord has poured out so many blessings and he always remembers his covenants.

“I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise.” D&C 82:10

I am so thankful for a loving and merciful God who watches over us and blesses us in times of need, and in times of bounty.

Make this week a good one, be happy, enjoy life and the many freedoms of being in tis countray. What a blessing it is to be alive. As they say in the south, the Lord woke me up tis morn’in/

I love yall! take care!

Hope through the Atonement of Jesus Christ

“Moroni confirmed: “What is it that ye shall hope for? Behold I say unto you that ye shall have hope through the atonement of Christ” (Moro. 7:40–41; see also Alma 27:28). Real hope, therefore, is not associated with things mercurial, but rather with things immortal and eternal!”

Blue Tongue after slushy – Keep it Playful!

Hello Family and Friends! Life has been great this last week. One TRANSFER LEFT! WHAT! Time is going quick and soon Ill be home! I hope all of you enjoyed your independence day! We sure did! We went to Bro. Webb’s and fished in his pond. It was fun. WE did not get anything big but it was a blast. Then later that evening we ate at the Britt’s house, it was fun. We had hambugas. We also went on exchanges this last week and that was fun. I went with Elder Singoma! Also we went out a lot with a elder preparing to go on his mission. His name is Mason Falvey, he is legit. He has been going out with us a ton, and is leaving on his mission to Logan UT soon. He will do great. this past week was really hot, the high was 106……….. death

SO with transfers today! Elder Mcdougal and I will be staying together in Brookhaven. we figured as much, it will be a blast. We are working hard to find and teach. Hopefully by the time I leave here this area will be booming. We are getting this place lit. It is amazing to see the Lords hand in it all.
Sometimes we think we are not doing enough or that we are failures because we don’t always see the impact we have. Satan is the one that tries to discourage and tell us we are failures, we impact others more than we know. Even if that does not result in baptisms or people coming back to church.

President Thomas S. Monson said, “Just over a year ago, I was interviewed by the Church News prior to my birthday. At the conclusion of the interview, the reporter asked what I would consider the ideal gift that members worldwide could give to me. I replied, “Find someone who is having a hard time or is ill or lonely, and do something for him or her.””

This weeks theme is to stay happy, and share the light of the gospel just by being there for someone. The lord wants us to be happy and we can be as we live his gospel!

I pray for each and everyone of you, stay strong, healthy, and energetic this week
