Hey mom, same here in MS. It’s getting windy and cold! But i have that sweater you sent me last winter! THat is an awesome story about grandma, I did not know that. Nothing new this week, My cold is finally kinda going away. I still have a cough. Yes we will eat in someones house for thanksgiving. The mission is awesome, whether I baptize or not, we still are going to work hard. I believe Abinadi was the best missionary in all the scriptures. Reasoning>
1. He worked alone, working alone is no fun. When bad days came, he could only turn to the lord.
2. He saw no success, it’s easy to be a good missionary when you baptize every person you see. He worked his whole life and didn’t even see success, (other than Alma, but even then, Abinadi didn’t know about that.
3. He stayed faithful even until his death by fire!
We need to be like Abinadi, thankfully we won’t have to go through it alone, we will always have our loving family and friends around us, and if we don’t have that we will have loving church leaders.
We are seeing blessings in our missionary work! I saw the blessings this week. The lord is helping us find more people, we are teaching effectively. We are learning by the spirit. Revelation can only be understood by revelation. I am striving for eternal happiness. It only comes through seeking the truth. It comes through conversion. Through faith in Jesus Christ!
In the scriptures, the Lord told Simon Peter, “I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not, but when though art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” What was it that Jesus Christ saw in Peter that he being an apostle of the Lord for 3 years lacked? Jesus Christ saw that he still lacked CONSISTENCY! Hence, Christ prophesied that Peter would deny him three times that night! Amazing! Peter grew tremendously from that experience.
But it is only conditional upon us turning to Jesus Christ and exercising faith in him!!!! Peter turned unto the lord for change. I pray everyday, that I may take every moment at a time, and be able to stay worthy of the spirit. One day at a time, one door at a time, one breathe at a time. You only live every moment once. One Cool thing I learned the other day was Christ said, “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” I believe that means, Don’t borrow trouble from tomorrow—you have enough to deal with today!!!
THe theme for this week, is work hard every day, one day at a time. Trust in Jesus Christ, do his will. Up lift others as the days go by!
Love you Mom
