Week #67 Patience a Virtue

I LOVE TACO BELL!!! Check this car out, hahaha!

Things are going great, it is the last week of the TRANSFER, got to dominate it! This last week was way fun! I went on an exchange with my Homie, Elder Scott Beckstrom, it was way fun. SHOUT OUT TO MY HOME SLICE BECKSTROM! HE knows how to keep it real! Love that kid!
Other than that, not anything too exciting this week, we have been working hard!

The conference talk I ponderized this week, was “Patience, A Key to Happiness” by Joseph B Wirthlin April 1987. It was way good, I did not expect how much patience effected our Happiness in this life, and our ability to overcome!

I LACK PATIENCE> As I was reading this talk it really inspired me, I need patience more. It is one attribute I have been praying for!

Patience truly is a virtue that we all need to strive for!

He talks about how we need to be patient with ourselves when enduring trials and becoming better. That we need to be patient with our families, and that we too easily latch back at our famliy members because they are close to us, but in fact that it should be the opposite. That we should treat our family members with great patience and respect. That we should even let our wives, get int the car and honk the horn as, we as husbands get the kids ready for church! Or the other way around, you get the point!

Let us be patient in our callings, our responsibilities, with our families and our freinds. Love yall keep it real and love life serve everyone around you with loving kindness and long suffering.

That is true patience!

Week #66- One Day At A Time

Hey mom, same here in MS. It’s getting windy and cold! But i have that sweater you sent me last winter! THat is an awesome story about grandma, I did not know that. Nothing new this week, My cold is finally kinda going away. I still have a cough. Yes we will eat in someones house for thanksgiving. The mission is awesome, whether I baptize or not, we still are going to work hard. I believe Abinadi was the best missionary in all the scriptures. Reasoning>
1. He worked alone, working alone is no fun. When bad days came, he could only turn to the lord.
2. He saw no success, it’s easy to be a good missionary when you baptize every person you see. He worked his whole life and didn’t even see success, (other than Alma, but even then, Abinadi didn’t know about that.
3. He stayed faithful even until his death by fire!

We need to be like Abinadi, thankfully we won’t have to go through it alone, we will always have our loving family and friends around us, and if we don’t have that we will have loving church leaders.

We are seeing blessings in our missionary work! I saw the blessings this week. The lord is helping us find more people, we are teaching effectively. We are learning by the spirit. Revelation can only be understood by revelation. I am striving for eternal happiness. It only comes through seeking the truth. It comes through conversion. Through faith in Jesus Christ!

In the scriptures, the Lord told Simon Peter, “I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not, but when though art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” What was it that Jesus Christ saw in Peter that he being an apostle of the Lord for 3 years lacked? Jesus Christ saw that he still lacked CONSISTENCY! Hence, Christ prophesied that Peter would deny him three times that night! Amazing! Peter grew tremendously from that experience.

But it is only conditional upon us turning to Jesus Christ and exercising faith in him!!!! Peter turned unto the lord for change. I pray everyday, that I may take every moment at a time, and be able to stay worthy of the spirit. One day at a time, one door at a time, one breathe at a time. You only live every moment once. One Cool thing I learned the other day was Christ said, “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” I believe that means, Don’t borrow trouble from tomorrow—you have enough to deal with today!!!

THe theme for this week, is work hard every day, one day at a time. Trust in Jesus Christ, do his will. Up lift others as the days go by!

Love you Mom

Week #65- I Know That The Savior Lives

Mom life is soooo fantastic, did you get my videos and pics from google drive?> Anyways life was good this week, I ALSO GOT SICK! haha I got a cold and it wasn’t fun. I am trying to get over it still and I also got my flu shot. gahah SO we are on the same page! THat all sounds like so much fun, and yes of course I remember grandma Corbin’s recipe for scones those are amazing I love em. I miss grandma she is watching over us as we speak! THe church is absolutely true! I got the mail on the 5th. I got the journal now i can write in a journal again. everything is going good, the conference talk i am ponderizing this week is “THE CHALLENGE TO BECOME” by Dallin h Oaks, in 2000 October conference. I read over it and it is really good. I loved all the things he shared. IM going to study it in more depth but it is awesome. A theme i thought of this week, is to fast with gratitude and to enjoy LIFE!. Often times we fast for strength and for protection and for solving problems. How often do we actually fast out of GRATITUDE FOR THE PROBLEMS WE DON’T HAVE. IF you can imagine all the problems in the world, then imagine how many insignificant problems we have, it should bring us to our knees in humility. What a blessing it is to know how much the lord has blessed us. Remember The song, Count your many blessings name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the lord has done! Count your many blessings and every doubt will fly, you will be singing as the days goo by!

Let us choose a day this week that we will fast out of gratitude for our lord and savior Jesus Christ, I promise that it will bring more joy into your life, i promise you that he will help you in your times of need, I promise you that he will hear your prayers, that when you cry he will say here am I. I promise he will lead you by the hand, I promise he will encircle you with his love. What a BLESSING IT IS INDEED!

Isaiah 58:6

Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

I Know that the church of Jesus Christ is Gods Church on the earth! I know that Joseph Smith was called as the prophet to restore Christ’s church to the earth, I know that THe book of Mormon is the word of GOD. I KNOW THAT THE SAVIOR LIVES, and I know that by recognizing those blessings will bring us happiness. Stop worrying about a nicer car, or a bigger house, those are a false God, that does not bring happiness. SERVICE is the bottom line, the only way to find true happiness in life that brings a feeling inside that you cant describe is living the way Jesus Christ lived, and that was for OTHERS. Let us thank our father in heaven for all that he has done, let us take two meals out of our day and donate a fast offering, let us help those that hunger and help those who lack clothing. Help others so you can help yourself. Let us remember him this week by fasting in GRATTITUDE.
2 Nephi 4

27 And why should I yield to sin, because of my flesh? Yea, why should I give way to temptations, that the evil one have place in my heart to destroy my peace and afflict my soul? Why am I angry because of mine enemy?

28 Awake, my soul! No longer droop in sin. Rejoice, O my heart, and give place no more for the enemy of my soul.

29 Do not anger again because of mine enemies. Do not slacken my strength because of mine afflictions.

30 Rejoice, O my heart, and cry unto the Lord, and say: O Lord, I will praise thee forever; yea, my soul will rejoice in thee, my God, and the rock of my salvation.

31 O Lord, wilt thou redeem my soul? Wilt thou deliver me out of the hands of mine enemies? Wilt thou make me that I may shake at the appearance of sin?

32 May the gates of hell be shut continually before me, because that my heart is broken and my spirit is contrite! O Lord, wilt thou not shut the gates of thy righteousness before me, that I may walk in the path of the low valley, that I may be strict in the plain road!

33 O Lord, wilt thou encircle me around in the robe of thy righteousness! O Lord, wilt thou make a way for mine escape before mine enemies! Wilt thou make my path straight before me! Wilt thou not place a stumbling block in my way—but that thou wouldst clear my way before me, and hedge not up my way, but the ways of mine enemy.

34 O Lord, I have trusted in thee, and I will trust in thee forever. I will not put my trust in the arm of flesh; for I know that cursed is he that putteth his trust in the arm of flesh. Yea, cursed is he that putteth his trust in man or maketh flesh his arm.

35 Yea, I know that God will give liberally to him that asketh. Yea, my God will give me, if I ask not amiss; therefore I will lift up my voice unto thee; yea, I will cry unto thee, my God, the rock of my righteousness. Behold, my voice shall forever ascend up unto thee, my rock and mine everlasting God. Amen.

Brothers and Sisters, do not give up, do not give in, you are better than that, YOU ARE A Human being you dont deserve that! You are more than that, your potential is unimaginable, you are a son or daughter of God, you cant give in to a life full of sorrow and shame, you cant give up and live in a life with regret, you can do it you can strive you can push through imaginable things, you can conquer all through the atonement of Jesus Christ.

You can have eternal happiness, forever.

Love Elder Brenan Corbin.

Week #64- Fast and Pray Oft

Missing Brenan At Blake’s Reception!!!

Meridian is alright, not to bad. That is so legit! I can’t wait to kill it these last 9 months we are working so hard. We tracted 21 hours last week, that is three times the standard of excellence. I’m getting Elder Gardner, he is working hard with me, i love it. President Olsen is gonna be like what 21 hours?. Yeh let’s gooo boii, we don’t mess around,. we are gonna tract 21 hours 5 weeks in a row. WE go hard, no games, Lest keep it real. Love it i’m on fire. So i started a new thing. I am ponderizing a conference talk a week. Also I decided that I would fast more often for help from the lord. The lord says to fast and pray oft, and i know that i don’t fast often only on the fast sundays, so i’m gonna try to fast 4 times a month. Once a week. i think it will make my teaching and my life soo much more full of spirit. We don’t have a mail key yet so i won’t be able to get the mail for a couple days soooo annoying but it is okay. Halloween was fun, I got tons of pictures for yall this week so just get ready haha! Church is sooo true, lets take life one day at a time and get absolutely pumped about dominating life! One day at a time, till i drop, lets go, toso mai.

WE got a ton of new investigators this week and we are gonna do what we cant to set them with Baptismal dates! THe conference talk i ponderized this week is

Full conversion brings happiness in 2002 april by Richard G. Scott. I love doing this because there are so many precious trues we can learn.

We NEED TO FOCUS on the FUNDAMENTALS. Don’t worry about what God has to do. Those who keep there covenants will be saved, that is it ! Its that simple. Don’t worry about the hows and whys just do what you need to do. Trust in God. John 7;17 is the only way to go! that is what is gonna allow us to gain faith, when we do what is right. WE will recieve witnesses fromt he spirit. then after we recieve witness, that will spring up in us a desire to repent, and when we repent our capacity to do what is right and be consistently obedient is increased! That is when full conversion comes and we will have everlasting happiness! THe church is absolutley true, let us commit to do what is right, let us change now,

CHrist says, “will ye not now come unto me, and repent of your sins, that I may HEAL YOU?” CHRIST WILL HEALS!!!!

Remember that song, by Jay sean, DO YOU REMEMBER? Remember all the times that the Lord has helped you remember all the times that he has testified to you!!!! Remember them, put them on your heart! and then focus on the those very key points of the doctrine! and be happy!

Choose happiness and eternal life according to the great mediator!

Love all yall, church is absolutely amazing and there is no reason to choose sin, the grass is not greener on that side! the church is soooooo true! Loveyall
